Generally speaking, Amanda Seyfried has some pretty awesome hair on the regular. Whether it's a pin-straight blowout, voluminous waves, or a sleek ponytail, she tends to keep it classically pretty. Hey, with healthy strands as long and lustrous as hers, it doesn't take much to look stunning.
But every once in a while the girl goes for a remix, and it seems a pretty plait (or two!) is her thing.
For the While We Were Young New York City premiere this week, Amanda showed up in double French braids, which were wound into a chic chignon. Our first thought? Prom!
The intricate style lent some edge to her otherwise demure look. If you're wearing something equally feminine and looking to give it a cool twist, a set of chic braids might be the answer.
If you've got a friend or sister (or mom!) who can create two precise French braids for you, we'd recommend getting on their good side from now. You'll want the style to be as secure as possible without having to lock it in with too much gel and hairspray. Consider starting with wet hair and comb a shine serum through before putting your partner to work. Then, finish by pinning the ends of the braids into a tight bun at the nape of your neck. And you're done! Sit under a hair dryer or hit your strands with a blow dryer so that your product-soaked hair doesn't drip onto your dress.
